This used speedometer cable assembly, part number 1819957, was removed from a 1957 DeSoto 4-door sedan with a Torqueflite transmission, which I still have. The cable itself does turn freely, but should be removed and cleaned up, along with the housing, and lubricated before installation. There is some surface rust on the lower part of the housing.
