This is a Lucas M35J starter 25149. 43/69 date code. It was remanufactured decades ago by South Side Motors out of Huntsville, Alabama.  Its applications include a MGA, MGTD, Midget, Sprite, GT6, etc. At some point in its life moving from shelf to shelf, the top stud threading got damaged, as shown in the pictures.
