The shims are located between the chassis and the running boards to prevent metal on metal wear. The packings or gaskets are made of polyurethane which is a far better material than the original flattened firehose. The shims are 5mm, 3/16", thick just like the original.It is made of high quality European polyurethane, hardness 70 Shore, same as regular rubber.
