This is a New old stock vintage cartridge type oil filter. It's got 8.2045 and M17E markings on it if that helps identify exact intended use, although this style was common on various 1930's, 1940's, and some 1950's engines. It looks similar to some I've seen on Mopar, but others as well. It's generally in good condition except for a little shelf wear and a tiny fingertip size ding where the red paint smudge is.
