These are side mirror mounting plates for use on 1968-1974 AMC American Motors AMX and Javelin models, when equipped with the late model (1970-up) style side mirrors. Over time the mirrors on these cars tend to loosen, causing rattles and vibration that prevents good visibility from the mirror. This mounting plate goes inside the door to act as a wide, stable mounting reinforcement for the mirror.
