This transmission is awesome. I have a 99 f250 with a 5.4 that I did a zf5 conversion on 18 months ago. If I hadn't, I would keep this one. Having an internal pump on a manual transmission is very very rare. Besides running it without oil I don't see how it could sustain any damage from heat or abuse. All 7 gears are synchronized.
